John died 1800/03, Waverly, Pike Co., Ohio, buried: private cemetery, Waverly, Pike Co., OH. Moved to Ohio in 1786. A Methodist preacher for 35 years. Revolutionary soldier in Captain Peter Mantz's Company of Maryland.

Lewis died 1852, Fairview, Fulton Co., IL, buried: Foster Cemetery in Fairview, IL. Entered Methodist ministry at age 22. Moved from MD to Bedford Co., PA, to OH (near Chillicothe) to Madison Co., OH. Moved to IL. Lived for awhile with Samuel & Cassandra

Cassandra FOSTER, m. in Franklin or Madison Co, OH, Samuel DYER, b. 23 Mar 1786, Pendleton Co., Virginia, (son of John DYER and Jane MORREL), d. 1871, Bailey, Park Co., Colorado, buried: Castle Rock Cem., Douglas Co., CO. Cassandra died Cass Co., MO. Samuel: He was the third of the nine children of John & Jane DYER. 1831: moved to Fairview, Fulton Co., IL Buried first in Bailey; later moved by John L. Dyer.

(Lord) RANKIN, b. 30 Mar 1827, Lebonon, ME, d. 9 Apr 1888, Denver, CO, buried: Castle Rock Cem., Douglas Co., CO. John died 16 Jun 1901, Denver, CO, buried: Castle Rock Cem., Douglas Co., CO. Autobiography: "Snow-Shoe Itinerant", 1890 Biography: Mark Fiester, "Look for Me in Heaven", 1980 Stained glass window of him in CO State capitol. Sarah: Killed in a flood. Lucinda: Her first husband, Joseph Rankin, died in 1862, age 45.

b. Elias Foster DYER (son of John Lewis DYER and Harriet FOSTER) b. 8 Oct 1836, occupation Judge, d. 3 Jul 1875, Granite, Chaffee Co., Colorado, buried: Castle Rock Cem., Douglas Co., CO. Murdered in his courtroom at Granite. Buried first in Granite but moved later.

c. Elizabeth Iambie DYER (daughter of John Lewis DYER and Harriet FOSTER) b. 11 Jul 1840.

d. Samuel M. DYER (son of John Lewis DYER and Harriet FOSTER) b. 12 May 1843, buried: Napa, California. Some dirt from his California grave was placed in Castle Rock cemetery near his father's grave.

e. Harriet DYER (daughter of John Lewis DYER and Harriet FOSTER) b. 1 Aug 1846, d. 18 Sep 1847, Potosi, Grant Co., WI.

2. Robert DYER b. 1814, d. abt 1856. Died of accidental gunshot.

3. Rebecca DYER b. 1816.

4. Thomas DYER b. 1819, m. Mary (Polly) FOSTER, b. 1 Feb 1804, (daughter of John FOSTER, 2nd. and Martha PRATHER), d. 26 Oct 1862. Mary: This may be the wrong Mary...

John died 22 Aug 1832, Chenoweth, Madison Co., OH, buried: Chenoweth, Madison Co., OH. Enlisted at Chillicothe, Ross Co., OH, in 1812. Discharged 10/12/1812 at Urbana, OH Martha: Her mother may have been Roth Crownover, James' 2nd wife  (See their descendants.)
