From the Hendricks County Union, March 7, 1871 |
| Died--in Danville, March 5th, after a long and painful
illness, Mrs. Julia A. Ogden, in the 61st year of her age
She was born in Hampshire County, Virginia, came with her husband and family to this State in the Fall of 1857. At the time of her death she was a member of the M.E. Church. She was a kind, faithful wife, devoted and affectionate mother. Her life was spent in the secluded precincts of a home which she ornamented by the cultivation and practice of domestic virtues. In this quiet place she created her Christian alter, and in humbleness and humility, served her God by ministering to all who entered there. At last when death came to relieve her sufferings, she surrendered up her life as quietly and peacefully as she had lived. |
