Pie for the Gods

This recipe was found in the Bible belonging to Margaret Alice Kendall and Paton Wilson and was in Alice May Wilson Foster's handwriting

4 eggs, beat 1/2 hour

1 C sugar, beat again

1-1/2 C flour sifted with

1 tsp. baking powder, stir into above

5 tbls. boiling water

Bake in two thick layers.  Let cool.

Filling:     White of 1 egg, beat stiff

               1 cup sugar

               2 apples, grated

               Beat altogether 1/2 hour
